Next-generation imaging
Capture premium pictures with the world’s first 2/3-inch CMOS sensor with global shutter technology that eliminates the “jello effect” and banding noise. This allows the HDC-3100 to capture pristine images with low noise and excellent sensitivity (F12 at 1080/59.94p or F13 at 1080/50p).
More format flexibility (4K/HD)
The HDC-3100 can output 3G-SDI signals in a range of formats right up to 1080/50p, with 4K available via the CCU’s 12G-SDI and Quad 3G-SDI interfaces. So you can benefit from maximum production convenience – and your viewers can enjoy premium picture quality.
Optical fiber transmission
The HDC-3100 supports optical fiber transmission as standard, with an SMPTE-standard interface for connection with associated HDCU-3100/HDCU-2000 series Camera Control Units.

The go-anywhere camera
The magnesium alloy body of the HDC-3100 offers exceptional lightness and strength. Also ideal for handheld operation, HDC series studio cameras offer exceptional user ergonomics in a wide range of studio and field-based production environments.
Simple solution for IP remote production
Adding the optional HDCE-TX30 IP camera extension adapter allows the HDC-3100 to output ST 2110 signals directly, without requiring a separate CCU (camera control unit), simplifying connection to an IP-based remote production system.
Remote control of ND/CC
Neutral density (ND) and color correction (CC) can be controlled from a remote-control panel (RCP), master setup unit (MSU), or directly from the camera head.
Seamless integration
Backwards compatibility with Sony’s industry-acclaimed HDC-2000 series system cameras simplifies smooth integration with your current live production infrastructures, including cameras and CCUs.
Rich focus assist functions
The Viewfinder Detail function adds dedicated image-enhancing edge signals directly to the viewfinder, helping the operator to focus quickly and precisely in any shooting situation. It’s complemented by a Focus Assist Indicator and advanced Focus Position Meter function.
Servo-controlled ND filter
An optical Neutral Density (ND) filter wheel opens up wider creative possibilities. The filter can be controlled from a remote control panel, master setup unit, or directly from the camera head.
– Fujinon XA20sx8.5BRM-K3 HD Professional Lens –
The Fujinon XA20SX8.5BRM-K3 8.5-170mm f/1.8-2.7 HD Professional Lens is an ENG telephoto lens designed for 2/3″ cameras. It has a 20x zoom, a focal length ranging from 8.5-170mm and features a relative aperture ranging from 1:1.8 between 8.5mm and 113mm and 1:2.7 at 170mm. With advanced glass properties, it reduces the effect of color fringes that occurs due to the failure of a lens to focus all colors to the same convergence point.
The EBC optical coating of the HD Professional Lens ensures high-quality optical transmission. The XA20SX8.5BRM-K3 lens uses Fujinon’s Inner Focus technology and is suitable for use in video productions in weddings, houses of worship and corporate offices.
– HDVF-L750 7″ LCD HD Viewfinder –
Large Full HD 1920 x 1080 7-inch LCD panel ideal for 4K live production in operation with Sony studio cameras, XDCAM camcorders, F65 and PMW-F55
The HDVF-L750 Full HD 7-inch LCD viewfinder is usable with the whole range of Sony studio cameras, XDCAM camcorders (with supplied VF cable and V-shoe adapter), F65 and PMW series camcorders such as the PMW-F55 and PMW-F5 in 4K and HD live production configurations. The 1920 x 1080 LCD panel allows for more precise focusing, with a very high 1000:1 contrast ratio and WFM (waveform monitor) function for very precise exposure control. A 3G-SDI input connector adds flexibility for viewing external sources apart from the camera signal, while two assignable switches on the bezel allow for bespoke setups. The viewfinder also has a simple hood to help minimize glare.
